[takes her hand, and runs the pad of thumb over the back of it]
But it's a start. It's an avenue to explore. Your thoughts shouldn't be "I have to go home because I have no choice." It should be, "this may be a way for me to save everyone back home without returning, I should look into it more."
I'm not askin' for a promise. I'm not naive enough to do that. I know where your heart leads, and I know you follow it.
But it would be remiss of me not to try and help you see a more logical path where you can accomplish what you want to accomplish without puttin' yourself in danger.
Re: Day 80, late evening
There's a way to assure that it works.

I'm still not sure I trust it.
[Would you look at that, Bluebird being the UNSUUUURE one for once.]

Re: Day 80, late evening
[she admits that softly, and just a little stiffly.]
Re: Day 80, late evening
[gives her hand a small squeeze]
I'm not tellin' you to abandon them.
Re: Day 80, late evening
[… draws his hand closer and brushes a kiss against his knuckles.]
After—the things that have been said today, I'd rather not make any more promises. Not yet. But I'll try to find another way.

Re: Day 80, late evening
[Which is to say, she's letting out a soft, grumpy huff and shifting … to flop over onto his lap, her cloak still tight around herself.]
[This probably means he's won]
Re: Day 80, late evening
. . . you're a good person.
[he says, while running his fingers through her hair]
Re: Day 80, late evening
[She says nothing, choosing instead to just close her eyes and enjoy the feeling of his fingers in her hair.]
Re: Day 80, late evening
Re: Day 80, late evening
Mmm … Spark?
Re: Day 80, late evening
[his voice sounds a little lazy; relaxed, even]
Re: Day 80, late evening
[The question is asked softly]
Re: Day 80, late evening
What? No. I would not.
Re: Day 80, late evening
Well … that is a relief, I'll admit.
Re: Day 80, late evening
[his gentle scratching continues]
Re: Day 80, late evening
She said yes, instead.
Re: Day 80, late evening
[completely and utterly bewildered]

Re: Day 80, late evening
[cracks her eyes open, and reaches up to run her fingers through his bangs.]
Though I almost did lie to you, once. Back in Corehaven.
Re: Day 80, late evening
This isn't somethin' I remember.
